The Montana Osprey Project is part of a long-term study that examines osprey ecology and heavy metal contamination in Montana’s Clark Fork Rivers. The study runs two live webcams, one of which is located in Hellgate Canyon in Missoula. This educational feed provides viewers with a live view of the osprey nest in Hellgate Canyon, as well as educational updates of the nests current happenings.
Watch this feed live 24 hours a day to witness the local osprey Iris as she finds a mate and hopefully lays eggs. Once mating season is over and the eggs are hatched, the nest is sometimes visited by other species such as Eastern Kingbirds, Black-billed Magpies, or warblers. The high-definition cam will allow you to rewind the feed up to twelve hours, and to switch between the main camera, or the owl pole camera.
