Ocean City is a popular coastal resort city located on a barrier island along Maryland’s Atlantic shoreline. It has a year-round population of around 7,000 residents, which dramatically increases during peak tourism periods. The city is best known for its long sandy beach, iconic three-mile boardwalk, and wide range of family-friendly attractions. The most popular and busiest season runs from late May through September, with June, July, and August being the peak months. During summer weekends, the population can swell to hundreds of thousands of visitors. Outside the peak season, Ocean City becomes much quieter while still offering scenic coastal views, dining, and outdoor activities.
Webcams mainly focus on the boardwalk and the beach, giving viewers a live look at the town's most active areas. Several boardwalk webcams are positioned close to ground level, while others are mounted from elevated locations, providing wide panoramic views of the promenade, shoreline, and ocean. These cameras let viewers check real-time weather conditions, crowd levels, and overall atmosphere throughout the day and night. Closer webcams capture detailed scenes of pedestrians, cyclists, shops, and nearby attractions along the boardwalk. Elevated webcams offer sweeping views of the three-mile (4.8 km) wooden boardwalk, the sandy beach, and the Atlantic waves.
