Ocean City is a popular coastal resort city located on a barrier island along Maryland’s Atlantic shoreline. It has a year-round population of around 7,000 residents, which dramatically increases during peak tourism periods. The city is best known for its long sandy beach, iconic three-mile boardwalk, and wide range of family-friendly attractions. The most popular and busiest season runs from late May through September, with June, July, and August being the peak months. During summer weekends, the population can swell to hundreds of thousands of visitors. Outside the peak season, Ocean City becomes much quieter while still offering scenic coastal views, dining, and outdoor activities.
