Warrior Canine Connection: Puppies
Warrior Canine Connection is a nonprofit organization based in Maryland that trains service dogs while helping veterans recover from physical and emotional injuries. It was founded in 2011 by animal behaviorist Rick Yount. Veterans participate directly in the puppies’ training, which provides companionship, routine, and a sense of purpose during recovery. The organization primarily raises Labrador and Golden Retriever puppies that are prepared for future service work. Its programs support veterans with conditions such as post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and military sexual trauma. Warrior Canine Connection is widely known for combining canine training with a therapeutic mission that strengthens the bond between veterans and dogs.
