The Porthcawl Pier in Wales’ is famous for the massive waves that batter and break over the pier. Unfortunately, this also means that the Porthcrawl Pier is one of the busiest lifeboat callouts in Wales. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) installed this cam to help monitor the sea conditions and watch the pier to see if anyone had been swept off the rocks or was bypassing the safety gate. RNLI opened the cam to the public to let emergency services know if anyone was in distress.

The live feed will allow you to watch the long pier with the lighthouse perched on the end as waves crash over it. You will also be able to see visitors as they brace against the strong winds at the pier and (hopefully) stay behind the protective gate. This high definition feed can be rewound up to twelve hours and is available day and night, using black and white infrared to provide a surprisingly clear image during the evening hours.
