The Dolomites, part of the Southern Limestone Alps in northeastern Italy, cover about 15,942 km² across the provinces of Belluno, South Tyrol, and Trentino. Their highest peak, Marmolada, reaches 3,343 meters (10,968 ft) above sea level. The range is famous for its pale limestone and dolomite rock formations, which create dramatic cliffs, pinnacles, and spires. In 2009, UNESCO designated the Dolomites a World Heritage Site for their unique geology and landscapes. The area is popular year-round, with the summer months (June–September) attracting hikers and climbers, and the winter season (December–March) drawing skiers and snowboarders.

Tre Cime di Lavaredo

The webcam overlooking the Tre Cime di Lavaredo offers live views of one of the Dolomites' most famous landmarks. These three limestone peaks, with the tallest (Cima Grande) reaching 2,999 meters, are celebrated for their vertical north faces and more gradual southern slopes. The formation is an icon of alpine climbing and hiking, drawing visitors from around the world. Through the webcam, viewers can often see people walking along the scenic mountain paths beneath the peaks.
