Valle Nevado Ski Resort is one of South America's most famous ski destinations, located in the Andes Mountains about 60 kilometers east of Santiago, Chile. Opened in 1988, it was designed in the style of French Alpine resorts and offers some of the best snow conditions in the Southern Hemisphere. The resort sits at an altitude of 3,025 meters, providing over 900 hectares of skiable terrain and 37 runs suitable for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Valle Nevado is part of the "Three Valleys of the Andes" ski area, which connects it with nearby resorts El Colorado and La Parva for an even larger network of slopes. It hosts international ski and snowboard competitions and attracts visitors from around the world during the June-to-September season.
