Observe the quiet bustle of a functioning train station in the prairie town of La Plata, Missouri. The La Plata Station is a restored Art Deco style depot that services Amtrak’s Southwest Chief line, the long-distance route between Chicago and Los Angeles. Served daily by trains, you can listen to the crickets sing in the heat, watch the cars drive slowly over the tracks, and wait for trains to arrive.

Provided by Virtual Railfan, two static webcams show a wide view of BNSF Railway's Marceline Subdivision at milepost 312.7. Streaming live, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the webcam offers clear video and audio of the 50 to 70 freight trains that pass by over the course of 24 hours, as well as the two passenger train stops made by Amtrak’s "Southwest Chief"; In the morning, the eastbound train #4, and in the evening, the westbound train #3.
