Manchester Barton Aerodrome, located in Wythenshawe just south of Manchester city center, is one of the oldest airports in the UK, opened in 1930. Originally, it served as Manchester's main airport before commercial traffic moved to Ringway Airport, now Manchester Airport. Today, it operates as a hub for general aviation, hosting private flights, flight training, and light aircraft operations. The aerodrome features a single asphalt runway about 2,654 feet long, suitable for small planes. Barton is home to flying clubs, pilot training schools, and aircraft maintenance businesses, attracting aviation enthusiasts and hobbyist pilots. Its historic buildings and vintage aircraft make it a charming site for visitors interested in early British aviation.

Aerodrome offers several live webcams that let viewers watch daily aviation activity from different sides of the airfield in real time. The east-facing webcam looks across the eastern part of the airport and clearly shows a hangar area where light aircraft are parked and prepared for flights. From this view, viewers can often see planes taxiing, being moved in and out of the hangar, and pre-flight activity. The west-facing webcam covers the western side of the aerodrome, capturing runways and open grass areas where small aircraft regularly take off and land. The north-facing webcam looks toward the northern part of the airport, offering a perspective on approaching and departing aircraft and giving aviation fans a complete picture of life at this historic aerodrome.
