Rotterdam City Views
Rotterdam, the second-largest city in the Netherlands, has a population of approximately 655,000 people. It is home to the Port of Rotterdam, the largest seaport in Europe, handling over 14 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) of cargo annually. The city was heavily bombed during World War II in 1940, leading to its modern skyline featuring innovative architecture like the Erasmus Bridge and the Cube Houses. Rotterdam is also a cultural hub, hosting events such as the International Film Festival Rotterdam and boasting institutions like the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum.
Cruise Terminal
The webcam provides real-time views of the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam, a striking 802-meter-long cable-stayed bridge designed by Ben van Berkel. It captures panoramic scenes of the bridge, the Kop van Zuid district, the Nieuwe Maas River, and the bustling Rotterdam Cruise Terminal. Viewers can watch boats, cruise ships, and the vibrant cityscape, making it an excellent way to experience Rotterdam remotely.
KPN Led Wall
The webcam provides a real-time view of the KPN Led Wall, also known as the Toren van Zuid, an office building located on Wilhelminaplein in Rotterdam's Kop van Zuid district. Standing 96.5 meters tall with 23 floors, this building was one of the first high-rises on Wilhelminapier, constructed between 1998 and 2000. Its façade features 896 LED lights that display animations, artworks, and messages related to Rotterdam’s events, such as the World Port Days and the annual marathon. The building's front leans forward at a six-degree angle, mirroring the cables of the nearby Erasmus Bridge, making it an architectural highlight of the city.
Euromast
The webcam set at Het Park in Rotterdam offers a peaceful and picturesque live view of one of the city’s most loved green spaces, often called Het Park bij de Euromast. From its position near the Westzeedijk and the banks of the Nieuwe Maas, the camera captures winding footpaths, tall old trees, open lawns, and the calm atmosphere that makes this historic park a favorite for locals and visitors. Viewers can also enjoy clear sights of the Euromast, the iconic 180-meter tower that rises on the western edge of the park and dominates the skyline.
Laurenskwartier
The webcam overlooking Laurenskwartier and the Binnenrotte sits high above the ground on a rooftop, giving a wide, elevated panorama of this central part of Rotterdam. From this height, the camera looks directly over the long open space of the Binnenrotte, where markets often take place, and it also captures the nearby canal that cuts through the district. One of the most distinctive sights in the frame is Laurenskerk, the historic church whose tower rises clearly among the modern buildings around it. Viewers can also see surrounding rooftops, apartment blocks, and commercial buildings, all woven together in a lively urban scene. Down below, the webcam picks up everyday movement–cars, cyclists and pedestrians–showing the constant flow of traffic that makes this area one of the city's busiest and most atmospheric spots.
