Lukla Airport (LUA), located at 2,845 meters (9,334 feet) in Nepal, is one of the highest and most dangerous airports in the world, with a short, 527-meter (1,729 feet) runway that is sloped at a steep 12.5%. It serves as the primary gateway to the Everest region, handling over 80,000 passengers annually, primarily using small aircraft like the Twin Otter. Built in 1964 with the help of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, it connects Lukla to Kathmandu and other regional airports. Due to its challenging weather and terrain, the airport has experienced several accidents, adding to its reputation for being a risky yet vital hub for trekkers and locals alike.

The Lukla Airport webcam provides a live view of the runway, allowing viewers to watch aircraft take off and land on the steep, short runway. On the right side of the frame, the airport building is visible, offering a glimpse of the terminal area. The webcam also captures the surrounding mountains and provides real-time weather conditions, giving viewers an understanding of the often unpredictable environment at this high-altitude airport.
