Frankfurt Airport(FRA), officially known as Frankfurt am Main Airport is Germany's largest and busiest airport. It is located about 12 kilometers southwest of central Frankfurt and serves as a major international hub for Lufthansa. The airport opened in 1936 and now handles over 70 million passengers annually, ranking among the top airports in Europe. It has two main passenger terminals (Terminal 1 and Terminal 2) and a third (Terminal 3) currently under expansion to handle future growth. Frankfurt Airport operates four runways and connects to more than 300 destinations in over 100 countries, making it one of the world's most connected airports.

The webcam, operating in planespotting mode, offers a live view of one of Europe's busiest air hubs where aviation fans can watch aircraft taking off and landing for a few hours during the day. The camera is usually positioned to overlook the main runways and taxiways, giving an excellent view of both short-haul and long-haul aircraft operations. Viewers can often see large and unique planes such as the Airbus A380, Boeing 747-8, Boeing 777, and Airbus A350, as Frankfurt is one of the few airports in Europe regularly serving these wide-body giants. The webcam also captures cargo aircraft from major carriers like Lufthansa Cargo, FedEx, and UPS, making it a favorite among aviation enthusiasts.
