The Churchill Northern Studies Center was built in 1976 as an independent, not for profit educational center along the Hudson Bay seacoast surrounded by three major biomes; Marine, Northern Boreal Forest, and a Tundra. Located approximately 14 miles outside of Churchill, Manitoba, the center is situated in the ideal spot for the scientific observation of various wildlife and natural events. Some of these events include the Polar Bear migrations in the fall and the famous Aurora Borealis during the months of February and March.

The centers camera is located high on the building facing outward towards the landscape. Its view changes periodically giving you different vantage points of the surrounding area such as pointing east of the center to view the Wapusk National Park. Though the live stream is available 24/7 365 days a year, the best times to watch are during the spring where you can observe the Aurora Borealis first hand as the camera catches this amazing phenomenon.
