The webcam is hosted by Rochelle Railroad Park and overlooks the double mainline four-track diamond in the eastern quadrant of this famous rail junction about 80 miles west of Chicago. It captures nonstop rail action at a true railfan hub, with an average of 80–100 trains passing daily. Viewers can watch Union Pacific freights on the former Chicago & North Western route heading toward Omaha, as well as BNSF freights on the former Chicago, Burlington & Quincy line bound for the Twin Cities. The camera also shows the park's elevated pavilion, restrooms, and the on-site Whitcomb locomotive display. Roughly 50 UP and 30 BNSF freight trains appear each day, making long intermodal, unit, and mixed freights common sights.
