Bridport Harbour, often called West Bay, is located about 2.4 km south of the town of Bridport on the coast of Dorset, England. It lies at the mouth of the River Brit and forms part of the famous Jurassic Coast, known for its striking cliffs and fossils. The harbour was originally built for trade and fishing, and in the 19th century more than 500 vessels a year used it. Over time it faced problems with silting and storm damage, leading to modern improvements and a reinforced pier system that now protects the bay. Today it can accommodate around 70 boats, including fishing vessels and pleasure craft, and offers boat trips and fishing excursions. The harbour gained worldwide attention after the TV series Broadchurch was filmed there, attracting thousands of new visitors.

The webcams observe Bridport Harbour, giving viewers a real-time look at life in West Bay on the Dorset coast. One of the most popular webcams overlooks the West Bay Harbour, showing fishing boats, visitors walking along the piers, and the surrounding cafés and kiosks where people enjoy traditional fish and chips made from locally caught fish. The view often includes the caravan and camping sites nearby, as well as the busy quayside during the summer season, which runs from 1 April to 30 September, when the harbour offices are open daily for visitors and boaters. Another webcam is positioned to look toward the East Beach, showing golden sand, rolling waves, and the dramatic Jurassic Coast cliffs that make the area so famous. This camera gives a wide-angle look at the coastline where people stroll and relax, especially in warm months.
