Omsk is a major city in southwestern Siberia, located at the meeting point of the Irtysh and Om rivers. It was founded in 1716 as a Russian fortress and later grew into an important administrative and military center of Siberia. The city has a population of about 1.1 million people, making it one of the largest urban areas in Russia's Siberian region. Today, Omsk is an important industrial hub with strong oil refining, petrochemical, machinery, and aerospace industries. It also has a rich cultural scene with theaters, museums, and historic 19th-century architecture. The city experiences a sharply continental climate with very cold winters and warm summers.

The webcams show different live views in Omsk. One camera is placed on Lenina Street, capturing a busy central avenue with cars, pedestrians, and nearby cafés and local bars where people often sit outside. The second is a multicam system that shows different areas of the city, showing various streets, squares, and everyday urban scenes. Together, they give a real-time look at both the main downtown atmosphere and wider parts of Omsk, from active traffic zones to more open public spaces.
