Hiroshima Airport (HIJ) is located in Mihara, about 50 km east of Hiroshima city, Japan. It primarily serves domestic flights, with some international routes to nearby Asian destinations. Opened in 1993, the airport sits on a man-made plateau and features a single runway measuring 3,000 meters in length, capable of handling large aircraft like the Boeing 777. In 2019, it handled over 4 million passengers and around 17,000 aircraft movements. The airport is connected to Hiroshima city by bus and highway, making it an important gateway for tourism and business in the region.
The webcam at Hiroshima Airport is installed on one of the terminal buildings, providing a clear view of the apron and jet bridges. It includes sound, allowing viewers to hear ambient airport activity such as aircraft engines and ground operations. From this vantage point, the webcam captures planes parked at gates, passengers boarding and deboarding, and ground service vehicles in action. Beside the apron and jet bridges, viewers can also see part of the runway, observing takeoffs and landings.
