The Port of Vancouver is not only Canada's largest cargo gateway but also a major hub for passengers and harbour activities. In 2024, its Canada Place cruise terminal welcomed a record 1.32 million cruise passengers and handled 327 ship visits, making it one of the busiest cruise ports in North America. On peak days, nearly 20,000 travelers moved through the terminal, and new technology such as facial biometric scanning reduced border control processing times from minutes to just about 10 seconds per person. The harbour is also becoming greener, with more than 80% of visiting cruise ships able to plug into shore power, cutting emissions while docked. Together with its record cargo movements, vehicle imports, and links to about 170 countries, the Port of Vancouver plays a vital role in both Canada’s economy and its tourism industry.

The live webcams overlooking Vancouver Harbour offers a stunning 270-degree view of the city, capturing everything from sunrises over the North Shore mountains to sunsets over the skyline and the glow of twilight at night. Viewers can watch Disney Wonder cruise ship arrivals and departures, along with other vessels like Zaandam, Coral Princess, and Seven Seas Explorer gliding through the harbour. Midday brings lively scenes along the Vancouver Seawall, Science World, and False Creek, where dragon boaters, rowers, and ferries animate the calm waters. As day turns to night, the stream showcases container ships, tugboats, and the sparkling city lights, making it both a relaxing backdrop and a vivid real-time portrait of Vancouver's waterfront life.
